Toronto newcomer ARI had me spellbound with her human trafficking inspired synthpop debut Pretty Little Villains (PLV) but a couple weeks ago. ARI proves the sensational first song was no fluke with a phenomenal follow up named Teachers. Its smoldering spunk and deeply husky vocal display once again bring to mind a combination of Sia with P!nk. Potent and gripping Teachers explores sexual double standards and the shaming of women for the same libidinous activity that men get lauded for. Not only does ARI deliver stellar pop music, she seems to deliver a much important social message within each song. Teachers comes from ARI’s forthcoming debut EP, Tunnel Vision, due out this summer. If you happened to miss Pretty Little Villains (PLV), you need to stream its video, below.
